NEED SOME DATE NIGHT IDEASFOR VALENTINE'S DAY? Need some other ideas for meaningful (but cheap) ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day? Try these. n Buy some clear red balloons, but before you blow them up, put wrapped candies, small gifts, or love poems inside, and then give them to your loved one as a bouquet. n Make a meal only out of heart-shaped items or foods that are red. Try heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast, red velvet cake, valentini martini, or a heart-shaped angel food cake. n Buy strawberries from the grocery store and look for a tub of meltable chocolate nearby. Have fun making a mess while you dip your own chocolate-covered strawberries. n Rent the first movie you saw together and then settle in with a blanket and a bag of popcorn or a bottle of wine. n Write your beau or sweetheart a love letter. n Have fun creating handmade coupons for a movie night or a massage. n Create a booklet that illustrates the reasons you love your partner. n Make a mixed CD of all of your favorite songs, or learn how to play a love song on the guitar and serenade your partner on Valentine’s Day. n Cut out hearts from pink or red construction paper and on each one, share a story about your relationship. When you’re finished, string the hearts from the ceiling. Sources: About.com’s dating Web site; Staff Writer Sarah Kleiner Varble Posted by Kirace |
